Hi guys,
Hope you had a fun weekend. I am typically a stay-at-home-and-lounge-by-the-TV kinda girl. But this weekend, I decided to give myself some quality R & R. I was invited by my dear friend Joe to an art showing 'illimite' at the Terra Culture by the delightful artist Chinedu. I wore my favorite pair of denim skinnies, with my comfy blue sandals, cuff pearl necklace, ALDO purse and a peplum top I bought a year ago from Aliexpress.

His sampling featured artworks in various mediums. Wood barks, strips from sack bags and stringed ropes were used to puzzle the subjects (children and adults) together, all beautifully expressed in various mixed media formats.
His inspiration, I gathered came from his childhood as evidently depicted in the various art forms. His works essentially draws from traditional Nigerian settings. We can all relate to it. I did. Here are some of the works. (picture quality is low owing to low light at the event. We apologise).
With the brilliant Artist - Chinedu. |
The show runs from July 4th - July 11th 2015 at Plot 1376 Tiamiyu Savage Street, Victoria Island, Lagos - Nigeria. So if you are in Lagos, and looking for ways to spend your evening, this is a great and classy way to explore the arts. The cocktail is spot on, the organisers are super friendly and courteous and the pieces are affordable to boot. You might just take home more than one piece.
